Ear Piercing Closure

Ear piercing (earlobe) closure: evaluation, procedure and clinical cases.

Ear piercing closure (most commonly on the earlobe) can be recommended when there is tearing, stretching, poor healing, or when a patient wishes to close a piercing for aesthetic reasons (when the patient no longer wants these openings so dilated, for example after wearing very heavy earrings, piercings, hoops or multiple perforations) or functional reasons.

How is it performed?

After clinical evaluation, the plan is defined based on size and location. It is typically performed under local anesthesia, removing scar tissue and closing in layers to support a good cosmetic result.

Recovery

Local care, hygiene instructions and follow‑up are provided. Healing time depends on the case and the closure technique used.
